Named after the Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, St. Michael's Art Academy strives to bring truth and goodness into the world. Art is the communication of ideas, and brings about the truth of reality. All art courses are ordered to this purpose.
Developmentally appropriate curriculum that is joyful and yet challenging while remaining faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Students will grow artistically with the ability to self-pace at home. Check-in appointments with an art instructor are available for a small fee.
All courses are carefully designed by experienced art educators to simplify method and process for a full understanding of art materials. Your student will grow in confidence and ability while being taught by faithful Catholic artists.
Academy and course creator Sarah Hauer has over twenty years of art education experience. Her credentials include:
B.F.A. Art with an emphasis in Art Education, painting, and drawing.
Current Graduate Student at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Theology & Christian Ministry.
She has held the position of Curator of Education, forming the art program at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City, SD. Has taught art from ages pre K- adults, and has served as a Catholic art educator in the Diocese of Phoenix for over five years.
She believes in the Liberal Arts education tradition and seeks to be a resource to parents who are the primary educators of their children.

From large scale original artworks and illustrations, Sarah Hauer is trained to instruct in multiple art mediums and methods while honoring traditional techniques. Modernism and Relativism are not taught in our curriculum.
